Case Studies

Voicepath has been fortunate to work on some very exciting and challenging projects.
Sometimes we get an opportunity to write some of our experiences into a case study.
Rugby Stadium Infrastructure Upgrade
When the Harlequins scheduled an Access Control System upgrade, Voicepath was chosen to provide a new fibre optic backbone and category 6 infrastructure.
The work was planned to cause minimal disruption during the busy events based Rugby off-season, whilst ensuring the all the work was completed before the start of the Harlequins new season.
Regional Airport
Mobotix IP CCTV
The Challenge: As part of its newly secured Enterprise Zone status, Newquay Cornwall Airport’s 135-acre ‘Aerohub’ site located at the south side of the airport, would be England's only aerospace focused Enterprise Zone. The only network infrastructure that linked both sides of the airfield consisted of a single fibre with most of the fibre cores in use or faulty. Traditional analogue CCTV would not be a viable option, given the large distances involved and the lack of copper infrastructure.
Audio Visual
The brief was to provide Audio Visual (AV) components into a space where staff could hold corporate meetings and events, private functions and social club meetings such as Cinema Club, Video Gaming Club and Poker Club.
Our solution provided a new voice and data backbone infrastructure to allow for future expansion, upgrade of the original audio visual components and a provide new Local Area Network (LAN) to allow access to business networks.
Major Sporting Event
Communications Network
The Challenge was to provide a communications infrastructure versatile enough to serve a major European surfing event.
The communications network would consist of five individual networks, each hosting a broadband connection, voice communication, judging system and distribution of live scoring to screens throughout the event site. The final requirement was a satellite link to allow a live broadcast of the event to be fed over the internet.
Desk Connectivity, Configuration, and Cable Management
Voicepath was chosen to support TCi (GB), a tier 1 commercial interior supplier, in conjunction with a new build UK infrastructure project in southwest. Our brief was to provide a desk hardware fit out solution for the nearly 600 desks that would be present on the site during construction.
Wireless Solution
Longreach House is located within the Camborne and Redruth Hospital campus and offers a range of services and support to people with mental health problems. When the NHS was looking for a wireless solution for their facility at Longreach House in Redruth, they called on BT to supply the wireless mounting hardware.
Voicepath was chosen for the installation of the structured wiring and wireless hardware for their knowledge of the building and it’s infrastructure. Longreach House is a highly secure environment and surface containment is not allowed.
Nationwide Local Area Network Upgrade
The Challenge: when AXA scheduled a nationwide upgrade of their Cisco switches, many sites required a Local Area Network (LAN) upgrade to accommodate the new switches. All sites were Business Critical so there could be no down time of the network and no one was to know the upgrade was taking place. In order to undertake this project all work was to occur out of hours.
Network Infrastructure, Digital Signage Network & Audio Visual Requirements
When AXA, a world leader in financial protection acquired 16,500 sq ft of office space at the iconic Gherkin building, in the heart of London, a high specification data transmission system was needed for this prestigious office environment. Voicepath was asked to work directly with AXA Technology on the design and the choice of manufacturers for the network’s key requirements at the Gherkin site.
Regional Airport: Fire Station Public Address System
The Challenge: to provide a Public Address system throughout the Temporary Fire Station and the New Fire Station at Newquay Airport which would enable the airport to comply with aviation laws requiring air traffic communications to be audible throughout the working fire station at all times.
